Nicholas DiEugenio and pianist Mimi Solomon traveled to Gdańsk, Poland, for a week in early May as the second part of an Erasmus exchange between the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk (AMuz)and the UNC Chapel Hill Department of Music.

Nicholas taught many wonderful violin students at AMuz, and he and Prof. Solomon coached several chamber music groups. They also performed two concerts featuring American music by Aaron Copland and Jesse Jones. We loved meeting the students, faculty, and staff at AMuz, and a big thank you to pianist Dominika Glapiak, violinist Anna Wandtke, and everyone at AMuz Gdańsk for the warm welcome,” wrote Professor Mimi Solomon. “We hope this is the beginning of a great relationship and exchange between AMuz and UNC Music.”

In November 2025, Dominika Glapiak, piano, and Anna Wandtke, violin, came to UNC for a very inspiring visit that marked the first part of the Erasmus exchange. Glapiak and Wandtke performed their own recital, led masterclasses, and taught lessons with many UNC pianists, violinists, and chamber music groups. Many thanks to Professor Donald Oehler and the UNC Music and AMuz Gdańsk International Relations staff members for helping to make the exchange possible!
